As a grandson of Wally Pipp, I wanted to provide quality merchandise to all levels of sports athletes while promoting an ambition to maintain and strive to be the best at your position.
On June 2nd, 1925, Wally Pipp complained to Yankee’s manager, Miller Huggins, that he had a headache from being hit in the head with a baseball at batting practice. Wally said to Manager Huggins, “Hug, why don’t you let the kid play today?” Well, as it turned out, the kid was Lou Gehrig! Mr. Gehrig, commonly referred to as “The Iron Horse,” went 3 for 5 that day and Wally never got his job back. Wally was eventually traded to the Cincinnati Reds and finished out his career. Lou Gehrig not only became a Yankee Legend, but he also played in 2,130 consecutive games!
